Yes. Since April 2022, Transport for London (TfL) requires all new private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers to complete the Safety, Equality, and Regulatory Understanding (SERU) assessment before being licensed. Existing drivers also need to pass SERU when renewing their licence. Without passing SERU, you cannot legally drive for Uber, Bolt, or any other PHV operator in London.
Most drivers who use SERU Prep pass within 2-4 weeks of consistent study. We recommend spending at least 30 minutes per day practising. Our exam readiness score will tell you when you're prepared. On average, drivers who score 85% or above on our mock exams pass the real SERU test on their first attempt.
If you fail the real SERU test, you can retake it after a waiting period set by TfL. Our goal is to make sure you're fully prepared before you sit the actual test. Keep practising with your existing subscription -- there is no limit on retakes with our platform.
